We started operating in 2003 to support European manufacturers in market expansion in Asia. Since then, we've worked in projects for more than 60 corporations (European, American, Asian) with focus on market-entry to China, Korea, Japan. Most of companies we work for are SMEs (small-to-medium enterprises), as many large corporations have obtained enough resources to run marketing offices in (Asian) export markets on their own. There is no question, it's much easier to serve (Asian) markets and work with customers therein directly using local support (own sales force or an external partner). We work on project basis. This implies corporate clients discuss targets in Asian target markets with us -- before we pre-investigate market environment, test marketability and calculate forecasts, develop market-entry plans and provide a detailed project proposal. Please note the Western commission model is not common in Asia at all (only for brokers that move goods from A to B). Our projects always require a) a retainer and b) a bonus model (varies from project to project). One of our most requested project type is "Distributor-Search & Deal-Negotiation" which usually takes 3-4 months time that are covered by a prior set retainer. Certainly, G&S ASIA also take care of the "starting period" right after the Asia-Market-Entry project (usually 2-3 years), in which we supervise customer relations, manage orders/shipments, execute marketing/ promotion/ branding (in close cooperation with domestic customers).
